Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Review

October 17, 2017

As soon as I heard that Sally Hansen released an at home gel nail polish,  I was stoked! I tested these polishes out and before you continue reading, I am happy to share that: I absolutely LOVE them!

Loving the new gel manicure by @sally_hansen 💅🏻This gel lasts for two weeks! #review #ontheblog #linkinbio 🍁🍂

Sally Hansen introduces the at home gel nail polish that does not require any light. You do not have to cure this polish and it lasts for 2 weeks! This has completely changed my nail polish game everyone! I used to spend so much money on salon gel manicures and I must add that my nails were became extremely damaged and brittle. I save myself time and money by using this new line of gel polishes by Sally Hansen. I purchased the colour spice age along with the top coat to ensure that my polish lasts for two weeks.

These polishes wear a lot like traditional gel manicures – stays glossy and chip-free for 14 days! I should  mention that it is very easy to apply and to remove this gel polish.

I used this gel polish as a last resort, I was getting sick of going to the salon all of the time. This gel polish has solved every gripe I had with gel manicures—like the fact that I had to wait for the polish to cure under an LED lamp and then get it scraped off or soak my fingers in acetone. This gel polish goes on and comes off exactly like regular polish: two coats of a base-plus-colour formula and one layer of the topcoat. It dries in five minutes—yes, that’s right! There are 40 shades to choose from and all have a glossy finish. I tried and tested this gel polish and I’m so excited to spread the news that I had no chips during the first week, I did get my first chip during the end of the second week but the polish still looked presentable. Keep in mind that I’m constantly keeping my home clean, doing the dishes and other household chores. I’m beyond happy about this gel polish and can’t wait to try different colours!

Drugstore Beauty: e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator

March 2, 2017

Allow me to introduce to you the E.L.F. lip exfoliator. I purchased this product about a month ago and I love what it does for my lips when they are dry and chapped. Let’s face it, dry/chapped lips can bring us down especially during the winter months! There’s nothing like finding that super affordable product from the drugstore that just so happens to save the day!

The E.L.F. Lip Exfoliator was launched in 2011 with the unscented Original, but E.L.F. decided to add two additional flavours: Sweet Cherry, which has a bubble gum/fruity scent, and the fresh Mint Maniac which was released last spring.  If you’re a true E.L.F. fan (just like me), you might be wondering if the Lip Exfoliator tube works. It doesn’t just work, it leaves my lips feeling fresh, soft and ready to face the world.

This exfoliator includes small beads that are a one-shot chapped-lip cure, but they also are the ultimate way to prepare lips for dark, seasonal/matte lipsticks. I love using this exfoliator right before I prep my lips for a matte lip look.

The first ingredient in the E.L.F. Lip Exfoliator is sugar, and it has a gentle roughness that gets rid of  flakey patches.  What you should do is, first wet your mouth with a damp sponge, then, working in little circles, rub the exfoliator along your top and bottom lip. Because you’ve likely loosened dead skin cells, the next step is to use that very same damp sponge to do a little clean-up. When blotting and smoothing, don’t worry that you’re just reversing all the good you’ve done. The exfoliator also has a bunch of heavy-duty hydrators such as shea butter, jojoba, grape, and avocado oils that soak into your lips after you’ve applied the ingredients to your lips.

I absolutely love this product because it does the job and leaves my lips feeling extremely brand new. I definitely recommend this product and for what it’s worth, you can’t go wrong because the ingredients are natural and the price is right!

Review: e.l.f. High Definition Powder

February 22, 2017

img_1111

I’m impressed with e.l.f. for releasing an HD powder that is comparable to higher end translucent powders! I’ve been using this powder for a good two weeks and every single time I use it, my makeup looks AMAZING in photos. My only complaint is it doesn’t help people who have naturally oily skin. My skin tends to get shiny on my forehead area and this powder didn’t help me in that department.

The good news is, the e.l.f. High Definition Powder is super affordable and you can find it at most drugstores! It’s a great powder for those of you who would like try the ‘baking method’, which has been around for years but has recently made a comeback.

My only advice is to make sure you moisturize your skin before using this powder. It does make your skin look dry at first if you don’t moisturize properly.

This product is perfect for people who are looking to spend less for more product. I’ve tried plenty of HD powders and they all seem to do the same thing.

Product rating: 4/5

Let me know if you’ve tried this HD powder by e.l.f.!
