Sephora Illuminate Palette Review and Swatches

May 29, 2017

Hey everyone! With the summer being just around the corner I decided to purchase the new Sephora Illuminate Palette to get glowing skin. I read reviews on the Sephora website and people are going crazy over it with a 4.5/5 stars! I will be doing a first impression and swatch post for this palette because I love it so much.

This palette is great for all skin tones and contains “a mix of both warm and cool shades that work for all skintones and can be mixed to create a customizable glow.” In my opinion, this is quite comparable to the Anastasia Ultimate Glow Kit with it’s range of shades from true white to deep bronze. I do mix some shades together to create different looks with it, I do have naturally olive toned skin so most of the shades work well for me. I have tested the longevity of the shades and surprisingly, when applied with a setting spray they last throughout the day!

These shades have numbers:

#1 is a light, cool toned pink. This shade is similar to the Lorac highlighter in Moonlight. However, this is more pigmented and has a multidimensional shimmer, which makes it bolder than the Lorac.

#2 is a medium champagne shade that isn’t too warm. Similar to Champagne Pop by BECCA!

#3 is a pearly white, this is similar to BECCA Pearl

#4 is a pale gold that is similar to BECCA Moonnstone in my opinion.

#5 is a beautiful deep bronze shade.

#6 A deep pink shade that I usually mix with #3

Shades from left to right: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and #6.

My impression of this palette is that I will be using these shades all summer long to illuminate my face, shoulders and wherever I need a pretty glow. This palette is not powdery and the shades have a medium buildable pigment. The price is incredible for what you get in this palette and I can already tell that it will last me for a long time. I love this palette because there are three BECCA dupes all in one! If you’re curious and want to try it, just go to Sephora and test it out on your skin. Keep in mind, the shades look amazing on your skin if you use a setting spray first! Not only is this palette affordable it is also quite versatile which can be used to achieve various makeup looks.

What are some of your favourite highlighters?
